All previously submitted Candidate Sites to each authority have been withdrawn, but the Councils will be undertaking a new ‘call for candidate sites exercise’ covering both Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen as part of the new plan process, anticipated in January 2027.
All existing and future candidate site proposers will be required to formally submit their candidate site proposal for the new JLDP.
The Councils will be producing a Joint Candidate Site Assessment Methodology as an early part of the joint plan process to assist in developing sites and providing the necessary background information.
